Diabolical CPG products

Why is it when an iconic CPG brand tries to reintroduce their brand with a new product, it's always unhinged? Pop tarts, a household name, recently dropped a new product called “Crunchy Poppers”. Which is just mini pop tarts on the go, but why? Pop tarts are already pretty much an on the go breakfast item. I don’t know how this adds value to the Pop tart roster, but I’m intrigued.

I’m sure this is an attempt to create a new wave of Pop tart consumers with gen alpha, but there is nothing unique about the product. Strange? Absolutely. I feel like they would have had a better chance introducing a more healthier alternative, maybe? Times are definitely different and consumers are a bit more conscious of the ingredients of the food they purchase. I could be wrong here though.

I’m just not sold on mini Pop tarts being the new wave. I’m interested to see if this makes any motion and will be regularly checking its Point of Purchase stand and my local Kroger.
